Around My Home

Lately, I've been moving things around and restyling areas of my home since all the holiday decor is gone! I wanted a fresh look for 2014. Here's a peek into my favorite spaces!

My nightstand got a new, mirrored jewelry box! I love the subtle color it adds!

I added a pop of leopard to my entryway. The Fiddle Leaf that was there needed more sunshine!

My perfume and face products are now corralled in this acrylic tray from The Container Store.

When the new sofa came the tray on the coffee table got a fresh feel including a boxwood! You can never have too much greenery!

I'm kind of obsessed with this horse statue! I love pretty much anything from Three Hands! You'll notice the family pictures too. Those are our first family photos of 4! I smile every time I walk by this area.

Do you often restyle spaces in your home? If you get bored with things, just shop your own home and create a whole new look by moving things around!

Radiant Orchid

I have to admit when Pantone announced their color of the year, I was less than thrilled! Radiant Orchid is not one of the most commonly used colors in home decor! In fact, I think it is probably one of the least popular colors.

Even with Pantone's announcement and popularity of the color growing, I have yet to jump on the bandwagon where home decor is concerned! There is purple in my wardrobe, my polish collection, and I even wear purple eye shadow. But, something about outfitting my home in purple reminds me of a throwback to the 80's. Just not digging it yet, except in very small doses!

Do you see this color fitting into your home? Here are 3 tips on how to incorporate this trend if you're unsure or scared of taking the plunge!

How gorgeous is the Radiant Orchid paired against an all neutral space? I love the oversized art! The pop of color makes it such a statement piece!

Purple is definitely not meant to be the center of my universe! I would easily tire of the color!

Not sure bold is for me, although the orange pairs quite well with the creams and orchid.

Have I convinced you yet that this is the new "it" color? If so, which way would you use Radiant Orchid in your space?

On My Radar

Overstock is having a white sale which means their already reduced prices are even lower now! I was browsing their site and amazed by all the goodness! I spotted this gray Moroccan rug that I'm dying to have in my bathroom.

This rug would be only $65 for a 3 foot by 5 foot! You can't beat that for a wool rug!

And how about this blue beauty? Ugh, if only I had more floor space in my home for additional rugs! They are only too good to pass up. Maybe I'll just start hoarding pretty rugs!

When I was looking at rugs I somehow meandered over to lighting and decided this flush mount with all it's sparkling crystals needs to come home to my bathroom as well! $100 people! Why not?!

Are you a James Audubon fan? If so, you can get a 16/20 framed print for $60!  I adore this 'Great Blue Heron' as well as this 'American Flamingo' print! Both of these would be perfect paired together in any space!

Are you an Overstock fan? Do you plan on shopping for something new for your home?

Updated Living Room

As promised, I'm here to share our updated living room with you. We purchased a new sofa that you can read about here, which then led to switching out other aspects of the room. You'll notice a new rug, as well as some styling changes. I'm so pleased with our sofa decision and how changing out one major piece brings new life and a new feel to the space!

Yes, I still have my boxwood wreath up from the holiday season! I just can't part with it! Plus, the more greenery the better!

Thanks for checking out my cozy living room!

The New Sofa

If you follow me on Instagram, which you totally should, then you saw this sneak peek of our new sofa!

After months and months of shopping we finally settled on this Charleston sofa from Z Gallerie.

It combined everything I wanted which was tufting, nailhead trim, comfort, dark color options, and a reasonable price. It also had to be kid friendly! I know it doesn't seem kid friendly, but the fabric was treated and I've already easily gotten a stain or two out very easily.

I'll say when it first arrived it was larger than I thought it would be! I did see it on the showroom floor, but compared to the exiting sofa and current chairs, it's definitely grand! It took me a few weeks to adjust, but now I'm totally in love with what a statement it makes in the space!

Next week I'll have a full living room reveal. It's been a while since I showed our living room and there are some changes!

Have a great weekend and come back next week!

Baby Harper {2 Months}

This little munchkin is already 2 months old!

These days she's:
smiling
trying to lift her head
cooing
sleeping in 5 hour stretches
loves her swing (not her bed or anywhere else)
dislikes wearing bows (she tries to pull them off)
gripping objects

She is such a bundle of joy and the perfect completion to our family! Her sister just adores her as well!

Go-To Greige Paints

Painting anytime soon? Looking for that perfect mix of gray and beige? Well, here are some suggestions!

I personally think Revere Pewter is a great pick although it's more on the beige side than gray. Silver Chain is also gorgeous and can warm up any space!

Will you be painting anytime soon?

Target Goes Pink and Gold

After all the holiday shopping conducted at Target I thought maybe I'd give the old Red Card a break. Then, I made the mistake of perusing their site for a particular rug and came across all the new and glorious Threshold items! Behold pink and gold fabulousness! I'm doomed!

Do you have a gold obsession like I do and need some personal restraint?
