My Hallo Decor

For Halloween this year I kept it simple and contained to one spot in my home! I wanted to be able to throw it together and quickly take it down on November 1st.  The only piece that took any effort was the gold boo that was a dollar purchase from someone in my neighborhood. It was a funny color and chipped so I brought it back to life with spray paint. You can never go wrong with a golden touch!

The Pumpkin Patch

We took "A" to our church pumpkin patch for the third year in a row! So fun to see how much she has grown each year! 

Her first Halloween I set up pumpkins in the backyard and took pictures. I din't think she would appreciate the pumpkin patch that year! 

At this age she was definitely walking around and was interested in the pumpkins! She even threw a few of the baby ones! 

Last year little miss definitely had a blast running around and playing in the pumpkins. In fact, she had so much fun that she would hardly sit still for any pictures! 

This year the weather was perfect and my little bug enjoyed every minute of it! She was actually cooperative with pictures and loved the hay! It's hard to tell in this picture because we are purposely sitting, but I'm 8 months pregnant now and barely had energy to smile! Surprised I was even able to get up off the ground! 

When we got home she dumped out her shoes and they were filled with straw! Guess that proves how much fun was had! 

Can't wait until next year when we are a family of 4 and have 2 little girls at the pumpkin patch! By then, baby H will almost be a year old! My how time flies!

I think I'm going to jazz up the pumpkins on my front porch today with some paint! One can't go wrong with gold or black! They are looking a little drab right now all in their natural orange state and we just can't have that! Get ready pumpkins! I'm coming after you!

I had great intentions of gold and black pumpkins this year! You can see how well that worked out for me!! Maybe next year?! Moving on to turkeys and Thanksgiving decor tomorrow!

It Was a Spooktacular Party

I hosted a neighborhood Halloween party last Friday night at my home! I kept the decor festive, yet sophisticated! We all had a blast, and danced the night away!

A Halloween Vignette

Sorry if you were looking for Get Social Sunday. I'm a slacker right now! I left town over the weekend and totally forgot to get it up! Come back next week and link up to the party. I won't flake 2 weeks in a row!

Here's a little Halloween vignette I threw together last week! I'm keeping it simple. I plan on converting this into a bar set-up for our party this Friday night too.

Halloween Recap

I hope you had a fabulous and fun filled evening on Monday. We sure did! The witches and I took the kiddos trick or treating while the husbands manned the candy station. It was a blast to see the joy and laughter on the little ones faces!

Baby A was a ladybug without antennae. She was having no part of the head band and was only interested in the candy from the second we kicked off the festivities. The only pic I got of the 2 of us is her squirming away to get back to digging in the candy buckets. Such a little busy bee! Or lady bug I should say!

Plus, things were so hectic I forgot to write Baby A's name on her bucket after I sprayed it with chalk board paint. Thankfully it was dark an no one noticed. Next year!

Happy Halloween

Bring on the ghosts and goblins because Halloween is finally here! I'm so excited to dress up tonight. Yes, the ladies in my neighborhood are all dressing up to take our little punkins trick or' treating. We are kicking it all off with a block party that will for sure include a fruity concoction by my friend Gamze!

In the spirit of Halloween I threw this vignette together last week and wanted to share it with all of you. I purchased everything from either Michael's or Home Goods.

I printed the boo sign from a link party and my awful memory does not recall where.  Please let me know if it's from your blog so I can give you the much deserved credit!

Pumpkin Patch

We headed out to the pumpkin patch on Friday night along with Ava's cousin Shelby and some friends. I don't think Baby A got the memo to smile in pictures though! She seriously frowned the whole time! Well, the whole time we took pics that is. She was smiling and laughing while running around in search of her perfect pumpkin. Of course she tried to pick up the biggest ones she could find!

There was a chill in the air which made the evening so appropriate! Can't beat giddy kiddos, a hay ride, picking out pumpkins, and good friends. Did I mention that we stuffed our faces with mexican food afterwards?! 

Front Porch Progress

The pumpkin painting resumed yesterday and now my front porch sparkles. 

I kicked it up a notch with gold spray paint. 

I simply used blue painters tape to make some sort of design on my pumpkins. It was dark once the paint was dry and I ripped off the tape. Scared that I had royally messed them up, I didn't look at them until day break. Not bad. They are growing on me.

With one small project left, the front porch should be complete and ready to reveal by the end of the week. I'm sure the anticipation is killing you and your sleep is being compromised. Hang in there a couple more days. You will like what you see.

Monogrammed Pumpkin

Fall is here which means it's pumpkin time. Where we live there is actually a pumpkin shortage so I scooped one up over the weekend as well as some smaller ones. I'm in the process of decorating the front porch and one idea I came across was on Pinterest. Instead of carving a boring pumpkin I decided to paint our last initial on it.

I started by drawing a block letter R in pen, then went over it in sharpie to give a clear line. Actually, multiple lines until I got it just right.

Then, I took acrylic paint and painted the R. You can see there are 2 since I painted one for my parent's being the ultra sweet daughter that I am. Mine's the tall and skinny one, and theirs is the short and plump one.

Just a note when painting the tricky, slicky thing-apply multiple coats and let the paint dry completely in between. I applied about 4 until it covered completely. Darn waxy thing! And be careful not to knick it because the paint will chip right off. Urgh!

After the black was completely dry I painted white dots over top. Then, I touched up around the dots using a black sharpie since I am OCD and wanted perfectly round circles. Lastly, I stuck my beauty on the porch to dry in the hot Texas sun.  

I think it turned out pretty sweet! Would you attempt painting one for your home? Also, check back because I've got more front porch tricks up my sleeve to share with you!
