This is take 2 of the chalkboard post. I scheduled it for this morning, but was exhausted and didn't get around to finishing the post last night, so when it was up this morning it was blank. Hopefully no one saw.
Here's the new IKEA chalkboard I painted Watermelon for the big girl room. It's going to be part of her new art studio I'm assembling in the closet once I ever clear out the remaining junk.
The mini buckets were a find at the Target $1 section. I'm obsessed with that area! Now, I'm sure you probably think I'm crazy for putting crayons and colored pencils next to the chalkboard. There's actually a bar that holds a roll of paper for drawing. And, I'll actually add chalk and dry erase markers at some point too. The basket underneath will hold her coloring books, tablets, etc.
Here's what happened as soon as my cranky, almost 2 year old checked out her new area.
AWESOME!!
Well, now you can see it's not always perfect around here. Far from it in fact. This is just life with a toddler.

That is so cute Megan!! I love it so much! In fact I might have to steal the idea a bit because there is a plain one sitting in the play house I am redoing that may have been tossed out otherwise. It won't be watermelon though but I LOVE it that color.
ReplyDeleteLove this shade of pink! I'm sure your little darling will enjoy it for many years to come.
ReplyDeleteLol, I love it. ANd the chalkboard looks great. She's going to have such a great time with that.
ReplyDeleteOH GOSH! I remember those days! Cute chalkboard!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute, you have given me an idea for my homeschool chalk board, coming over from the Weekend Wrap Up Party!
ReplyDeleteI was definitely wondering why the chalk wasn't in one of the buckets. :) Absolutely adorable! My daughter needs an easel. She would love standing in front of this and drawing for hours. I'd love it if you'd share at Off the Hook!
ReplyDeleteThat's so darn cute! I love the bright color. I had to laugh at the messy pictures--I have 3 little boys and was jealous that you could leave art supplies out and they wouldn't get ruined (or be used to ruin other things) but I feel better now. She'll grow into it, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect color for that chalkboard! Thanks for following me, I'm following you back. Love your ideas!
