Chair Makeover

My office got a new chair. It didn't look like this when I got it though.

A sweet friend of mine was doing some spring cleaning and I was on the lucky end of her purging. I couldn't believe she was getting rid of this treasure, but you know how the saying goes.

Sorry for the bad iPhone pic

She couldn't find a place to use it in her home, but I actually needed an office chair and was more than happy to take it off her hands and give it life. I sanded, primed, painted, and sealed the chair. This is my go to primer:

I painted the chair Blue Danube by Benjamin Moore:

Here's how it looked several days and a sore arm later.

Well worth the sweat and pain I must say!

  3. Now that's what I call a triumph. I a great advocate for recycling and taking things that look unpromising and turning them into stylish, smart and appealing items. My daughter wanted some chairs the other day from a junk shop which she thought might look good painted and reupholstered trouble was we couldn't transport them home. We did get a small table and we intend to revamp that but we'll have to see how that goes as my talents are more with fabric and paper.
