My Summer Beach Reads

There are a few authors whose novels I read regularly and these ladies fall on that list! Their books are always full of drama, and easy reads for the beach or by the pool. Mindless reads basically! 

Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella

I just finished this book because it's quite comical and I couldn't put it down. While it might be somewhat predictable, you want to keep reading to find out what happens! 

Revenge Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger

I'm currently in the midst of reading this. If you've read The Devil Wears Prada then you'll want to dive into this one as well. Definitely a great sequel so far. Maybe this will turn into a movie as well. 

Baby Loves Summer by Karen Katz

If you have little ones, this flip book is adorable. Ava loves to turn the flaps and giggle at the baby. It's a quick read and easy to travel with. We've taken it on several trips this summer for our bedtime read. All her flip books are worth purchasing!

Summer is definitely here in Texas. I'm really feeling the heat already and knowing that August will probably be very brutal for this preggo chick! With summer comes the need for extra moisturizing, sun protection, and bronzy silhouettes. I don't spray tan or fake bake, so a gradual tanner and bronzer are a must. La Mer's new gradual tanner smells so fresh unlike many of the others out there. And, with my summer beauty products I  need a fun cosmetic case. I'm dying over the Tory Burch flamingo case! It's at the top of my wish list for sure!

With summer quickly approaching I'm spotting a lot of nautical décor around lately! I don't prefer an overindulgence of this style in my own home, but think a few pieces here and there such as the clam shell bowl can add a nice touch. I'm also loving a splash of the nautical flair for outdoor living spaces.

Vacation Time

We're off on a family vacay to Destin for some much needed relaxation. I can't wait to see "A's" face when she sees the beach for the first time! I'm sure it will be priceless!

I've got all 5 of her swimsuits packed because we all know even the littles need a different suit for each day and matching sunglasses. Dora the boogie board is also making thr trip along with a ton of beach toys! Thanks goodness for hubby's golf club bag that holds not only clubs, but a million other things as well when we travel.

Summer Birthday Gifts

 Last weekend we had several birthday parties to attend so I thought it would be fun to put together  unique gifts for Ava's friends. Who doesn't love summer and everything that goes along with it?! I do, so off I went to pick up summery items. 

Beach towels, beach balls, bubbles, water bottles, and chalk were all stuffed inside sand buckets and wrapped up in clear cellophane bags. The girlies got summery note pads, pens, and stickers. 

I created personalized notes on my favorite site Pic Monkey, and attached them with ribbon. 

Hopefully Ava's little friends enjoy their goodies this summer! I sure had fun putting them together.

With summer here and frequent pool visits, I have so many things to lug around. It seems there is never a shortage of cute totes to choose from. I love to throw my sunblock, hat, towel, and a good book in and go.

 Last weekend I was at J Crew outlet and picked up the coral and white striped tote for half off! I'd been eyeing it at retail for a while, so I'm thrilled with my bargain to say the least.
