Outdoor Spaces

With summer just around the corner, I'm ready for an outdoor space to entertain and lounge. Cooking on the grill with friends and family is my favorite leisurely activity next to a swim in a chilling pool. Here are some gorgeous outdoor spaces that I've got my eye on. They are sure to get you pumped for summertime.

My Weekend

This weekend is the all important Tory Burch sale. Yes, 25% off at my favorite store. This my friends could get dangerous! Here are some items I've got my eye on. Hopefully, they are in stock at the store. Now, I've got to go make myself presentable so I can head out and get my hands on these goodies!

Office Envy

Yesterday I told you that my new kitchen table attempt was a failure, but I got a new office desk in the process. Here she is in all her beauty.

Ok, well maybe that's not my office, but it is the same IKEA table I purchased. Wishful thinking I know! Too bad it's not my office with the lovely green ottoman, brass lamps, antique dresser freshly painted white and gold branch wall art goodness!
All I'm saying, is that my table has great potential! First things first, I need to move the table up to my office. That would be a great start. Meanwhile, I'm going to crush on more office pics that I'm envious of.

You can find these and other inspiring offices by following me on Pinterest.

New Table and Problems

Well, I purchased our new kitchen table and it's an epic fail! Thankfully, it was this inexpensive table.

I had big plans in my mind, but it just didn't work out so well. The table for one is too small for our space. Also, it's very difficult to scoot the chairs under the table because of the narrow opening on the ends. What's pretty funny is that one friend came over and said it looked like a craft table and another called it a kiddie table. That did it for me. So, now on to plan B.

I had purchased 2 of these chairs which are staying.

I'm on the hunt for 2 more chairs in a different style. Possibly these:

or these:

I'm still undecided and even wavering on color of the next 2 chairs. Now, you're wondering about the table I'm sure. We are keeping the old one that is sitting in the garage and I'm sawing off the legs. Well, correction, a friend of mine is sawing them off. We didn't like the bar height so I'm changing that with shorter legs. I wasn't crazy about the fact that it's so dark either, so I'm lightening the space with the chairs.

All in all, things are actually working out just fine. I'm moving the new desk up to my office because my current desk is cramped. I might have even learned a small lesson to listen to my hubby sometimes. He really doubted the new table and I told him not to worry that it would look great with 4 new chairs. WRONG! I'll let him be right this time.

Are there any projects you have attempted lately and failed at or even changed your plan mid way?

Paint Tool

Picking out a paint color can be such a grueling task. In fact, wouldn't it be so much easier if you could digitally see your space painted the color you have chosen before purchasing the paint? Well, now you can with Olympic's new paint tool, ColorClix. I played around with the new online tool last night and I have to admit I'm a fan. It's so user friendly.  All you need to get started is a picture of the space you are wanting to transform.

I chose the living room at my mom and dad's home to upload and choose a paint color for. It's currently the builder's beige and we have truly been stumped on what color to throw up on the walls. There is so much wall space that picking a color has been intimidating and the last project on our list to paint. Here are just a few of the colors that I played around with and tried out in ColorClix

Here's the builder's beige

Here's the tool and the room in Mount Airy D54-2

Footpath D62-3

Forevermore D55-2

Crashing Waves B56-2

You can see the tool gives a great representation of the actual color. Now, I'm even more stumped though because I like all 4 of the colors I chose. Ultimately, I'm leaning towards Mount Airy.

What are your thoughts? Does this tool seem helpful? And, which color do you like the best out of the 4 above?

Nursery Design

My brother and his wife are having a baby this summer and we are beyond excited that a baby boy will be joining the family. As much as we adore shopping for pink and bows, this new realm has been exciting.
Even though baby Hunter isn't arriving until summer, we are all anxious to outfit his new space. I came up with this design board for my brother and his wife after they told me that they wanted baby jungle animals. I found the bedding at Target for only $40 and we used that as our jumping off point.
In a couple weeks we are heading to Houston for part 1 of the install, so I'll have before shots and you can see what progress we make. In my mind, I'm really hoping to get everything finished in one trip, but then there's reality. Nonetheless, it will be a very busy and enjoyable weekend.

My Weekend

Via

My bestie is headed into town today. A and I are so excited for her visit. In fact, A has been running around screaming her name. It's so cute that she remembers her. Lots of girl time planned!

Going to check out old Navy to find this jersey knit. It looks so comfy that I can't resist.

We might go relive our high school days and see Titanic, but in 3D this go around. Maybe we will sneak in our own popcorn and soda again?!

Gotta swing by the paint store at some point and pick up samples for a client's bathroom.

So, off we go...

HAPPY WEEKEND!

Any exciting plans?

My Skirted Table

After seeing skirted tables around Pinterest and Blogland I finally have my own version. Remember how it dawned on me that my parent's had a table base in their garage? Well, I dug it out, dusted off the cob webs (literally) and hauled her home. I'm so glad I did! Here's how the new corner in my living room looks after I passed off the fabric to my seamstress!

The photograph is one of my favorites of my Grandma who just recently passed away and my Grandpa. It was taken at my cousin's wedding when Nannie was glowing with happiness.
The broaches are from my late Nana. She passed them on to me and I love how displaying them not only reminds me of her, but it brings out the beauty in the pieces.

The neutral fabric was decided upon since there are so many other patterns and colors occurring in my space. I wanted a classic look that wasn't overpowering. This corner makes me so happy now! Sometimes I just stand there and stare at my new table. Yep, I'm kind of crazy like that.

Oh, do you see a sneak peek of my new Chloe sofa too? Come back tomorrow to see the rest of the living room complete with new furniture!
