Lets Go To The Lake House...

Or, we could escape to Thom Filicia's upstate New York lake house rather! This 1917 home has been resurrected and now possesses a sophisticated and rustic feel!
Quite charming I must say! I'm waiting on my invite!

Who wouldn't want to end their day here with loved ones and a nice glass of wine? In fact, you might not ever get me away from that fire pit!

Nate Berkus for Target

First off, I love Nate Berkus. He's adorable to look at and has a great eye for design. But, I can honestly say that I'm not that impressed by his line that came out Sunday for Target.

I really thought the shelves would be covered in his line, but it was extremely limited. There was one small end cap of his products and multiple shelves of Christmas decor already. I even checked out another store thinking maybe mine was just lame, only to find the same results.

I was interested in purchasing his new book, so I was quite excited to see it on the shelf still. That is the only thing that came home with me.

I can't wait to sit down and browse through it with a cup of coffee!

What are your thoughts on Nate's collection? Did you find anything that you're overjoyed about?

A Halloween Vignette

Sorry if you were looking for Get Social Sunday. I'm a slacker right now! I left town over the weekend and totally forgot to get it up! Come back next week and link up to the party. I won't flake 2 weeks in a row!

Here's a little Halloween vignette I threw together last week! I'm keeping it simple. I plan on converting this into a bar set-up for our party this Friday night too.

Do you take the less is more approach on Halloween decor or do you go all out?!

My Navy Bathroom {Updated}

The guest bath got a few updates this week. I'm still loving the dark navy paint, but I was tired of all the added color. It was feeling a little overwhelming. Here's a reminder of what it previously looked like.

And now with a new shower curtain, towels, and muted tones.

The orange soap is obviously just a holiday pick and not staying forever!

I pulled the clock from another room. I think it's better utilized here and a bit unexpected for a bathroom.

The golds, grays, and creams are much more subtle and flow better with the rest of our home. I knew I couldn't pass up the shower curtain when I saw it at Target. Plus, it was only $20. The gray towels I also scored there and they were on clearance. I can't say I have many $30 makeovers!

Mirror Mirror on The...

Chest! I'm loving this new version of the MALM at IKEA! Thought about a pair for A's big girl room, then I quickly realized the tiny fingerprints would drive me nuts!! Maybe for the guest room instead?

What if I required my guests to wear gloves?! Would they think I'm nuts?

And, look what's back in stock! Just saw it the other day, but sadly I don't think I have a place for it!

What are you eyeing at IKEA these days?

It's a Boy {Baby Shower Details}

Last weekend I threw a baby shower for my best friend. We've been friends since the 7th grade. I'm so excited that it's her turn to join the mommy club. I was the guinea pig!

My friend requested an elegant shower that didn't scream baby! I kept it simple with polka dots, and chevron prints. We left out all the baby animals and pacifiers! My friend's sister in law did make this adorable baby carriage though!

These food labels were made by me and are sitting on painted mini easels I purchased at Hobby Lobby. I also made the cupcake toppers, signs, banner, etc.

The letter was an easy spray paint project.

We chose to have the shower indoors and out to give the feel of a garden party. Little did we know the weather would drastically change and it would be in the 50's! It all worked out though.

Here's my adorable friend and her baby bump!! I can't wait to meet baby boy Chang in November!
