Weekend Wrap-Up

Any big plans this weekend? Only 15 more shopping days until Christmas so get out there and tackle your list! Use this guide to stay organized.
We are headed to Mississippi to celebrate Christmas with our family there. Wish me luck flying with Baby A for the first time. We are packing the iPad and lots of toys to keep her occupied.

Weekend Wrap-Up

Happy Weekend! Any big plans? We are pumped that college football is back in full swing. Our Texas Longhorns face off with the Rice Owls tomorrow. We bleed orange around our home so you can only imagine how excited we are to be cheering our team on again. Even though we are season ticket holders, we won't be making the home opener. It's just not as easy to head out of town for every game with a little one in tote. There are plenty more where we can cheer them on in person though.

Speaking of football, check out these team wreaths from A Charmed Life. Too bad they aren't burnt orange and white? Her entry way sure does have curb appeal! Looks like she is ready for fall.

Tattered and Inked

This swirled plate wall is a great way to add interest to a room. She did such a great job combining colors and shapes. I'm really digging the little birdie plate in the top left corner. It's Pier 1which means I can actually get my hands on one.

June & Bear
How stinkin' adorable is this telephone stand and chair now being used as a night stand?! The aqua color is a great contrast against the lavender walls and it ties in perfectly with the bedding. June is one lucky little girl!

Everyday Art
How easy, but cute will these fruity cones be for a party or shower? I think I'll include them in an upcoming bridal shower I'm helping throw. I might even drizzle them with a dipping sauce?

Maybe I'll get my butt in gear this weekend and drag my fall decor out of the 150 degree attic. Kind of hard to get motivated for fall when it's freakin' so hot outside. Can I please get a cool down for the love of great decor?!

Weekend Wrap-Up

I'm back from a quick, but fun girls trip. We stopped by our favorite eateries, and came back 5 pounds heavier. What can I say, I LOVE food!

While catching up on my favorite reads today and checking out blog parties, I found some amazing work from fellow, talented bloggers. Here's what caught my eye this week.

An inviting entry way from PB&J Stories. She did a great job styling the console table. I'm crushing on the A/Z book ends! Do you think she found them at Home goods?! Hum...

Design Board from Balancing Home

Aren't these colors great together? The duvet caught my eye in the new fall roll-out at West Elm, so I'm glad to see how someone utilized it in a bedroom design board. The citrine curtains are stunning and a contender for my mom's dining room.

Chevron DIY from The Tall Chick Blog

Who doesn't love chevron prints, and especially painted on a wall?! This tutorial is very detailed and great to follow if you have the urge. PLus, how fun and eclectic is this room going to be when it's complete.

ABC Gallery Wall from TheLetter 4

I've seen several versions of ABC gallery walls, but this one hits the jackpot. The layering makes it so visually appealing. Adorable idea for a nursery or kiddos room!

Those are just a few of the fantabulous ideas I saw this week. Does anyone have any big plans for the weekend or big projects they are attempting? I put my cleaning gloves on today and made sure the casa is spic and span. Next, I think I'll repaint a chair and frame some new, cheap art that I'll be sharing next week. It's all about chairs... Come back to see what I mean.

Have a great weekend!

Weekend Wrap-Up {Organization}

This wrap-up is dedicated to all the crazy neat freaks out there like myself that get a warm, tingly feeling inside when they get a new idea for keeping life in order. If you think I'm bad now, you should have seen me in full force nesting while Baby A was cookin'. We moved during that time so my home got organized, packed up in boxes, unpacked, and organized again into different boxes. Yep, poor hubby. Mess Management is how one of my featured blogger refers to the madness. Love it!!

10 Rooms Design
Is this amazing or what?! Anne Marie used jewelry as art in her daughter's room. How brilliant is her designer-daughter-in-the-making because she styled it herself. Gorgeous and creative. Now I can't wait to see the rest of the room when she is finished making it her own.

Sunla Designs
This is ribbon organization at its best and is just 1 of the 2 shelves she has full!  Anything organized ROYGBIV style makes my heart race faster. Reminds me of the shelves at Hobby Lobby or... my closet.

Paper Roll Pencil Organizer
What a crafty idea for storing pencils, and crayons for kiddos. Hani came up with this fun craft for kids by repurposing paper rolls. The items stay organized and she's able to teach her son the concept of sorting items.

Hoosier Homemade
This homework box is nifty if you have school aged kiddos. How easy is it to whip out the whole supply box when they need tools for homework time?!

Weekend Wrap-Up

It's been a very long week! I've been away due to a death in the family so it is so nice to be back in town and able to be cheered up by all the inspiration and exciting projects going on in Blog Land. Here's some projects that wowed me.

Hi Sugarplum
Cassie over at Hi Sugarplum did a splendid job making over her homely bookcases as she referred to them. They are lined with a gorgeous pink/white Greek key fabric and styled beautifully. All her items really stand out now. Great job girl!

 Delightful Order
Aren't these bookcases stylish? It's a creative way to organize toys and books and by labeling the containers it teaches the kiddos to put their belongings back in the right spot. The best part is that many of the items were purchased on a budget from IKEA. Great job DaNita!

Bathroom makeover at In My Own Style
Go check out her before pics. This bathroom was previously purple and underwent a huge transformation. She even added decorative molding to the front of the bath tub which completely spruces it up.

Free Printable from Sprik
Cute free printables from Sprik. There are 25 colorways to choose from. How easy to print and frame for a gallery wall or children's room.

Great projects ladies! Thanks for letting me share them!

Weekend Wrap-Up

I spent this week sweltering down here in Texas where it's been as hot as 110 degrees! I'm so over this heat and ready for fall!

When it's this hot out, one must stay inside and blog, shop online, or switch things up in the house and start multiple projects.

Of course I decided to start multiple projects and one was redoing the less than stellar guest room before we have friends in town this weekend. The room still needs major help such as a coat of paint, new curtains, and refinished furniture, but some things I just can't snap my fingers and have finished. I wish I did have a magic little fairy that would come overnight and make these things happen. Wouldn't that be awesome? I could even rent her out!

Oh, yes, I also started on the office redo this week. I pretty much needed a bulldozer to get all my husband's crap very important belongings out of the way. I only made a couple changes and already it's a million times better. I'll be sharing before and progress pics next week.

No more projects this weekend because we have friends in town from D.C. We are so excited that Baby A gets to meet her new friend Marissa for the first time. We can't wait to meet Baby Marissa either!

I hope your weekend is spent with good friends!
Make it a good one!

Weekend Wrap- Up

Oh my gosh! Where has this week gone? I've been so busy with projects that it has flown by! I hope to have a calmer weekend ahead of me. I'm pretty sure that Skinny Girl will come along to help me chilax.

Are you doing anything totally exciting? No big plans here.
HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

Weekend Wrap-Up {Lemon Love}

Do you heart lemons like I do? I love their bright color, sour taste, sweetness in a lemon bar, cheerfulness they add decoratively to a room, and their ability to make a fresh squeezed beverage fit for any hot summer day. This weekend, everyone should enjoy an iced cold lemonade while they sit back and relax. My favorite lemonade is mixed with fresh strawberry syrup from Nordstrom cafe. Ahh....

Weekend Wrap- Up

I just love summer!
Don't you cherish the weekends when you wake up on Saturday morning and have no place to be except the pool with friends?! I sure do. Summer is flying by and I have a fun list of to-do's packed into each weekend before Fall comes.

Visit the farmers market

Drink some ice cold lemonade

Take many dips in the pool

Eat LOTS of snow cones

Make this delicious dessert like my Aunt Yvonne makes

Plant bright, fresh flowers in my pots on the porch (today)

Try new nail polish colors

Dream about going here....

And here

Sounds like a fun summer, huh? What's on your summer agenda?

What Tickled My Fancy This Week?

Like every week, I spend a ton of my week browsing around Blog Land while I neglect my husband, cleaning, and cooking. Ok, so really only the cooking gets neglected. It's like an addiction that I just can't quit. (Not that I want to anyways!) These are the things I came across that tickled my fancy this week and I found to be extraordinaire.

First things first......do you need a Ventian Spritz? They look so refreshing don't they! The bar cart is fab too!

Thanks to Coco + Kelley for the recipe

The Venetian Spritz:

4 ounces Prosecco
A splash of sparkling water
1.5 to 2 ounces Aperol
Orange
Lemon
1 green olive

In a glass over three or four ice cubes, pour the prosecco, a dash of sparkling water and the Aperol, being sure to follow that order lest the Aperol sink to the bottom without mixing. Garnish with a slice of orange, a twist of lemon (or both) and an olive.

Divine Dinner Party

Via Ada and Darcy
I am salivating at how divine this table setting is. It makes me want to run out to West Elm right now, buy the square lucite plates, and throw a dinner party. Oh but wait, that would mean I have to cook. Skip that idea. I'll just stare at the pretty photos instead! I think these photos have inspired me to make a runner for my table too. Add it to the project list.

Check out these before and after photos from Home-Styling. They are simply gorgeous! You can check out more of the before photos here. Ana is simply a design genius!

If you don't know who Ana is, she's the only producer of a Home Makeover show in Portugal. You have to see the pics of her home- romantic and simply stunning. And once again I'm raving about what a talented designer she is. Maybe she could come to the states and visit my house?

I'm crushin' on a Vintage Poster. Visit their site and you will know what I mean. They name really says it all and the prices are sooo affordable- $10 for an 8x10 or $14 for an 11x14. Plus, right now you get 25% off when you order 3 or more prints. Guess who's ordering 3 or more prints for the kitchen? They also have prints for kiddos and customizing available. Sweeeet!

Hope you are having a wonderful Father's Day weekend! Happy Father's day to my sweet dad and the best hubby in the world!
