Neon Hues

Have you noticed that interior design is often inspired by recent fashion trends? Some of those trends need to stay on the runway, while others have effortlessly made their way into homes like classic lines, bold patterns, rich jewel tones and animal prints.
This spring the runway and ad campaigns have been swirling with neon hues. I'm liking the fashion aspect of hot pink and electric yellow, but I'm not sure on whether or not these tones should grace my home or yours for that fact.

1.  2.  3.  4.

So, are you a neon kind of girl/guy when it comes to your interiors or just your wardrobe? Or, maybe you aren't a neon kind of gal/guy at all.

Taxidermy in the Home

Last week I asked the question about leaning mirrors in the home and most of you agreed, Oh Yeah! They are a great statement piece if your space allows which is what I heard.

This week we are talking taxidermy in the home. Now, lets clarify. In no way do I want to see a real deer or moose head hanging in my home. One of that sorts would for sure haunt me and cause a scare in the midst of the night when all I want is a sip of water. What wouldn't scare me though is a faux head of sorts. Here's some examples of the trend.

Ok, time to dish.  Are you the taxidermy type? Oh yeah, or Oh no...

Leaning Mirrors

Are you mirror obsessed like myself? Do you tend to gravitate towards hanging yours? I mean, it's the first thought that comes to mind. Why not lean a mirror against the wall instead? How about an oversized leaning mirror to add impact? Does this look tickle your fancy? Tell me your thoughts.

Zebra Print

Whatcha think about zebra print? And I do mean faux zebra. In no way do I promote the harming of animals for any products. This print is bold and exquisite and can really make a statement in an entry way or living area. I'm seeing this print often on stools, or as a rug either alone or under a table. If you are lucky enough to have a dressing area, then this pattern would look very chic amongst your jewels. Layering a zebra rug on top of a natural fiber rug works nicely too.

That's my opinion, so what's yours? Can you see this animal print being used in your home? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
