Sugarboo Love

Are you familiar with Sugarboo artwork? I'm so obsessed! The bathroom at our Mitchell Gold Bob Williams store has multiple pieces of this art and it's just so playful and whimsical. I'd love to start purchasing pieces for the girl's bathroom!

Really Late Birth Facts Subway Art

Yes, Ava was born almost 2 years ago and I'm just now getting around to making subway art for her birth facts. Bad mom I know! I've seen so many adorable versions and of course they are all over Pinterest, in gallery walls, and nurseries. After seeing the prices, I realized that this is an easy diy and I didn't want to pay the $10 or $15 price tag. So, call me cheap. But really, it's ink and paper.

I took matters into my own hands and starting playing around in Word and Publisher. No fancy program here. I've seen them with graphics too, but I kept mine nice and simple. I  stuck to the facts, literally!

Here's my finish product:

It adds a nice personal touch to her room. And, better late than never!

Eye-Catching Art

Do you ever try to think outside of the box when it comes to adding wall decor to a space? We can always purchase a painting or a mirror. How about using framed wallpaper samples instead? Look at this creative and colorful form of art used by designer Brian Patrick Flynn in this eclectic dining room. He's the mastermind behind Design Star on HGTV. He strategically placed these samples to create eye-catching art.

This 800 sq. foot condo has undergone quite the transformation considering it was a beige nightmare before. The owner is one lucky lady. 

Gallery Walls and Free Art

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. We had a great time visiting with our friends from D.C. even though little miss was extremely fussy ALL weekend. Her top 2 teeth are coming in and she is an angry dragon these days. Poor munchkin (and mom and dad)! It's back to work now and we have high hopes for full nights of sleep this week.

It's time to talk gallery walls and their popularity amongst designers and the inspired. For the last couple of years we have seen gallery-style art walls in many design publications and across homes. An art wall can reinforce your style and colour scheme whether your space is modern, traditional, eclectic, or beachy.The personality of the room will be magnified. Gallery art walls don't always have to include art alone. In fact, using a variety of art, photographs, decorative paper, fabric, memorabilia and mirrors will make your space more interesting. Also, remember to use what you love.


If you do however want to incorporate art, then why not use free art?! I found Feed Your Soul, a project dedicated to providing free art during these hard economic times. Their goal is to brighten your day and bring a smile to your face. When I browsed their section of free downloads it definitely brought a smile to my face. Check out a couple of the prints that caught my attention.
