Ok, so I'm beginning my biggest and toughest job yet! I'm starting with a 3500 sq. foot blank, open, boring builder painted house. This home is also referred to as my parents new house which I might add is only 5 miles down the road from ours! Yes, Ava is pumped and so am I to have a blank slate to work with. Ava's not exactly in to design yet, but momma is! Ava is more excited to have Grammy close to babysit her.
I also say this is "the big job" because my mom can be my toughest critic besides my husband. He wins the award for toughest critic. It takes a lot to impress him! Rarely, like as in this week, he said my newly decorated nook/hall area looked great! Really, he said that? I'll take it! It's not even fully completed yet. I'm still waiting to find the perfect rug for the area. I do think I have one in mind.
I will post the before pics tonight of my blank canvas. Let the wheels in my very ocd brain start turning.....

DIY Design Boards
I love this design board that HoneyWereHome has hanging in her office, so I have decided to make one for myself and for someone else as a gift. I went to JoAnn fabric yesterday and bought 2 different fabrics that were less than $3 each because I used 40% off coupons. I don't think I've mentioned yet that I'm an avid couponer, but that's a whole new post in itself!

When I was at IKEA last week I bought a cork board that I will transform into one of the design boards. I still need to find a larger one for my own office. I will hit up Michael's and use a coupon there as well to get it super cheap.
The first step of transforming the board is to cover the inside with newspaper and tape it off. I used blue painter's tape because it adheres well and won't rip the cork off. I'm ready now to paint the board as soon as the rain stops and I can head outside. Stay tuned to see what comes next.....
