A Bowl of Goodness

Cold weather calls for a big bowl of chili! When the temperatures dropped and the rain moved in that's exactly what I made this week! Usually, I make a pot of chili on the stove top, but instead I threw everything in the crock pot this time.

Here's how I made it:
  • 2 cans of diced tomatoes and onions
  • 1 can of tomato sauce
  • 1 can of water
  • 1 package of ground turkey meat
  • 1 can of red kidney beans
  • 1 Tb minced onions
  • 1 Tb garlic salt
  • 1 Tsp pepper
  • 3 Tb of chili seasoning from Carroll Shelby's chili kit
  • 1 Tb masa from the chili kit
I threw everything into the crock pot and cooked it on high for 4 hours then turned it to low for 2 more hours.

You can garnish with cheese and Fritos because there's no other way to eat it!!

Polyvore Contest

Over the weekend I started playing with the new Home feature on Polyvore. I literally stayed up until midnight creating a bedroom design on Friday night because the new tool is so easy to use and there are thousands of products to pick from right at your fingertips!

This morning I was so excited to see that Megan from Honey We're Home is sponsoring a Project Decorate contest on Polyvore, so I quickly finished my design and entered the contest! Here is the Sexy Glam bedroom I designed!

Now, hurry on over to Polyvore and like, or comment on my set so I can win a $500 gift card!

Sugarboo Love

Are you familiar with Sugarboo artwork? I'm so obsessed! The bathroom at our Mitchell Gold Bob Williams store has multiple pieces of this art and it's just so playful and whimsical. I'd love to start purchasing pieces for the girl's bathroom!

I spotted it this morning on One Kings Lane and there are some great prices! Here are a few of my favorite pieces!

Are you smitten yet?

The Pumpkin Patch

We took "A" to our church pumpkin patch for the third year in a row! So fun to see how much she has grown each year!

Her first Halloween I set up pumpkins in the backyard and took pictures. I din't think she would appreciate the pumpkin patch that year!

At this age she was definitely walking around and was interested in the pumpkins! She even threw a few of the baby ones!

Last year little miss definitely had a blast running around and playing in the pumpkins. In fact, she had so much fun that she would hardly sit still for any pictures!

This year the weather was perfect and my little bug enjoyed every minute of it! She was actually cooperative with pictures and loved the hay! It's hard to tell in this picture because we are purposely sitting, but I'm 8 months pregnant now and barely had energy to smile! Surprised I was even able to get up off the ground!

When we got home she dumped out her shoes and they were filled with straw! Guess that proves how much fun was had!

Can't wait until next year when we are a family of 4 and have 2 little girls at the pumpkin patch! By then, baby H will almost be a year old! My how time flies!

Pumpkins and Paint

I think I'm going to jazz up the pumpkins on my front porch today with some paint! One can't go wrong with gold or black! They are looking a little drab right now all in their natural orange state and we just can't have that! Get ready pumpkins! I'm coming after you!

Guest Room Essentials

Do you have a cozy, dedicated space in your home for guests? Did you at least think it was a cozy place for people to stay over until you read this list of essentials? I'm pretty much failing miserably at ensuring our guest room is up to hotel standards.

  • Lets see...I've got scented candles covered, but no matches in sight!
  • Tissues, well they can open the door to the adjoining restroom and grab some of A's Dora tissues!
  • Alarm clock...there is a clock in there but the batteries are dead. Everyone has a clock on their phone anyways!
  • Pen and paper...yep, plenty of paper and colored pens! Doodle away!
  • Good Reading Light...yep, matching bedside lamps! Check that one off!
  • Magazines...More decor magazines than anyone could ever hope for!

Basically, if you come to my house to stay, the room looks put together. It's definitely no Ritz Carlton, but the bed is oh so comfortable! I'd say it's a pretty nice little room to stay in minus a few essentials I'm lacking!

Are you up to par on your guest room essentials?
