Changin' Things Up

As you already have been made aware of, I am completely obsessed with changing things in my home. I recently made changes on my coffee table after Baby A took my precious aqua and gold sea urchin bowl and pushed it onto the ground. Needless to say it got transferred to the trash can. I did however find an almost identical one for $9.99 at TJ Maxx which is where the original one was purchased from. This time I outsmarted Baby A and put the bowl up high on the entry table so she can't reach it.

Here's what the coffee table looked like before if you don't remember:

Here's the more kid friendly version now:

So you might be thinking, "Hey crazy lady! There's still breakable objects in baby's reach." But, the convenient thing is that I just grab the whole tray and move it when we are playing in and around this space. The branch is indestructible for now.

I also changed up the end table because it just wasn't jiving with me anymore. The table needed more color. Plus, I found some great accessories at West Elm and TJ Maxx to incorporate.

Here's the before:

Here's the new look:

Lastly, I switched the place mats from the dining room table onto the kitchen table along with the candle holder. You're probably wondering what in the world is in the dining room now, but that's for a whole different post.

Do you like the changes?

  1. Oh my goodness! Im amazed that you actually keep stuff on your table with a little one. My daughter is 18 months and I am petrified to know what she would do to all the little pretties I would love to sit out. My end tables and coffee table are very empty. Never thought about the tray idea and scooping it out when she is around. I commend you...matter of fact I want to be like you one day! lol!

  2. Trays are the secret! :) I have one on our family room coffee table and I just move it of the way when my boys are in there. Works like a charm...
