Mom and Dad's house has been a work in progress since they moved in last April. We have tackled almost the entire home now. Most recently, we spent a weekend working on beautifying this space:
Yes, so bland and boring, but lots of natural light and great bones. And here's our after:
We started by painting the space Salt Glaze by Martha Stewart. The table and drapes were purchased from IKEA and we scored the chairs on sale at World Market. They were not fun to put together, but worth it in the end. They have a high end look while being very affordable.
I threw together the gallery wall with a couple of the same pieces as in my kitchen. You can get the details here.
The builder light fixture is next up on our plan to yank and replace with a new chandelier. Mom already owned the ladder so we accesorized it with the pink goblets from my late Grandma and other finds from the kitchen cabinets. It's always nice to use what you already own!
I hope you have enjoyed this space as much as we are! I can't tell you how much of a difference it is walking into the house now and seeing this completed space. I told mom I need to eat dinner at her home more often just so I can sit and stare!
