My Skirted Table

After seeing skirted tables around Pinterest and Blogland I finally have my own version. Remember how it dawned on me that my parent's had a table base in their garage? Well, I dug it out, dusted off the cob webs (literally) and hauled her home. I'm so glad I did! Here's how the new corner in my living room looks after I passed off the fabric to my seamstress!

The photograph is one of my favorites of my Grandma who just recently passed away and my Grandpa. It was taken at my cousin's wedding when Nannie was glowing with happiness.
The broaches are from my late Nana. She passed them on to me and I love how displaying them not only reminds me of her, but it brings out the beauty in the pieces.

The neutral fabric was decided upon since there are so many other patterns and colors occurring in my space. I wanted a classic look that wasn't overpowering. This corner makes me so happy now! Sometimes I just stand there and stare at my new table. Yep, I'm kind of crazy like that.

Oh, do you see a sneak peek of my new Chloe sofa too? Come back tomorrow to see the rest of the living room complete with new furniture!

  3. Love the look but with my family I'd be for ever putting it into the wash as they are terribly messy. Id think for me it would have to be in the bedroom. I am presently resurrecting a small tatty, Ive seen better days, side table. If it turns out well it might form a blog post

  5. I love skirted tables, Megan! I have two that I've had for years in my living room and they made the cut and came with us when we moved in October. Plus I love the roundness. I did get new covers for them ~ burlap ones when Ballard's had them on sale. I love the vignette you've displayed on top.
